Review
Although the playground in St Anne’s Park is relatively big, due to the park’s popularity, it can be very busy on a sunny day. It is full of colourful wooden play equipment facilitating pretend play (train, horse & cart, tractor, plane, cow etc.), there are three multi play units with slides suitable for children above 2 years old, some springers, several climbing structures and a few traditional swings. What is fascinating about this playground is that it is continuously developing: the latest additions are the wobbly crocodile and the Viking ship for the younger visitors and a long zip-wire plus a giant spider web for the older kids. After visiting the playground, it is worth taking a walk in Dublin’s second biggest park, because it is gorgeous, spacious, romantic and very well-kept. Among others, you can take a stroll to the ornamental pond or to the lovely Rose Gardens, to the Model Car Track or to the Red Stables Art Centre & Cafe that offers a Farmers’ Market on Saturdays, too. On Saturdays, a small road train operates around the playground and the rose garden - if you want to save some money, buy an ice-cream at Tir-Na-Nóg Cafe and you can get a free ticket to the train in return.
